Project Summary : This grant represents technical and financial support from the US Forest Service (USFS) for the UNEP/GEF transformational Change in Sustainable Forest Management in Transboundary Landscapes of the Congo Basin project, involving six (06) COMIFAC countries (Cameroon, Gabon, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Central African Republic). Two (02) activities are planned, the first with 26 local and regional participants (Cameroon, Central African Republic, Gabon, DRC and Equatorial Guinea) and the second with 27 local and regional stakeholders from Cameroon, Central African Republic, Gabon, DRC and Equatorial Guinea.
Main results :
-Product 1 :26 participants took part in the workshop presenting the revised land use planning methodology to regional stakeholders COMIFAC, CEEAC, CAFI, REPALEAC, REDD+, CBFP and other stakeholders on July 26, 2024 at the ONOMO Hotel in Douala, Cameroon, including (11 from the PMR and the other 15 from other countries including 6 countries (CAR, DRC, RoC, Gabon, and Equatorial Guinea) took part in the workshop and 2 ABIOGeT employees were present to ensure logistics.
-Product 2 : 21 participants (06 from RMC and the other 15 from other countries including 6 countries (CAR, DRC, RoC, Gabon, and Equatorial Guinea) took part in the training workshop on the land use planning methodology developed. This training took place from 05 to 06 September 2024 at Douala ONOMO Hotel. 02 USFS employees were present and 02 ABIOGeT employees were present to ensure logistics.
